DON ROMIRO, well handled and steadied along when outrun, responded to strong urging after being straightened away in the stretch and got up in the final stride. TAKUS sprinted into a good early lead, set a good pace, was put to strong urging when tiring in the drive and was unable to hold the winner. SIVA worked his way forward steadily, was sent to the outside of the leaders after reaching the final eighth and closed with a rush. TOMS LADY rushed forward through the field and held on well. DODD came from well back and on the outside. LARRY M. made up ground. BAL ELE tired. ZEBAR showed little under weak handling. PIPERS TUNE had early speed. SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. CAPTAIN HENRY, hustled to the front, drew clear after disposing of WILD CALL, responded to strong urging when MY BLAZE challenged and, benefited when the latter raced wide entering the stretch, established a good lead and won easily. MY BLAZE rushed forward through the field, engaged the winner approaching the final quarter, bore out entering the stretch and, racing extremely wide thereafter, held on well. RAIL DOWN, slow to begin and outrun early, closed with a rush. LILTING moved forwardly through the field and finished strongly. GAY BUBBLE raced wide and held on well. MINSTREL STAR showed an even effort. GRAND WATERS had no mishaps. MISS TAD lost ground throughout and showed nothing. WILD CALL quit. JUST IMPERIAL had early speed. Overweight — Lilting, 3 pounds. TUACROSS, rushed to the front, was unable to draw clear, gave way midway of the stretch, came again soon afterward and, withstanding a hard drive, outfinished MELODY TONE. The latter, hustled along from the start, forged to the front approaching the final eighth and was unable to hold the lead, but held on tenaciously. WEDDING MORN, a strong factor from the start and steadied along early, was put to strong pressure in the stretch and was fast wearing down the leaders. MASCOT made up ground in the drive. HARGRAM had no mishaps. BLACK CRUSADE finished fast on the outside. IMPERIAL ANHUT had early speed. OUR TREAT was outrun. MALEO BIRD was done early. MAEFLEET, hustled into a clear lead early, set a good pace under steadying restraint, responded well when called upon, but was unable to withstand the winner. CHATTER WRACK improved his position on the inside, was pinched back entering the stretch and came again when clear. ARNOLDS ACTOR, fractious but awaj well, followed the early pace under light restraint and tired after offering a bold bid midway of the stretch. ESCOMUR tired. MAGIC WINNIE quit. WISE CROSS was inclined to bear out after rounding the far turn. BLAKEEN was done early.
