MURPHY READY TO ASSIST LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 26.— After announcing that the Federal government is interested in aiding; Los Angeles or any city in cleaning up corruption, Attorney-General Frank Murphy left Los Angeles today for San Francisco. Murphy held a secret conference yesterday with Mayor Fletcher Brown and J. Edgar Hoover, chief of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, ostensibly for the purpose of mapping a program in which Uncle Sam will play a prominent part in giving Los Angeles a thorough house cleaning.
