AIR ACTRESS was sent up fast on the inside when LONG X. began bearing out midway of the turn, raced into an easy lead and was never seriously threatened, winning with speed to spare. LONG X., prominent all the way, bore out, but continued with good energy to the close. TRAVIS L. raced prominently placed throughout and held on with good energy to the close. MORE SIR dropped back after breaking alertly, closing some ground during the stretch run. THARS TIGE was unable to threaten. AMERICAN MONEY, was unable to keep up. WESTLY tired during the last quarter mile. SHESINIT, devoid of speed, raced far back throughout. SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. WESGOT moved up gradually on the inside leaving the back stretch, saved ground into the stretch and, closing gamely, was along in the closing strides. VANISHING HOPE raced to the front soon after the start, opened up a good lead and, rated along in front, began tiring in the last seventy yards and just failed to hold on long enough. ABBOTS LARK, unable to keep the pace early, came to the outside when reaching the stretch and closed with good speed. DROSERA came stoutly during the last quarter mile after being far back. CUPIDS ARROW closed some ground. CANTAMORE saved ground entering the stretch, but was unable to make up any ground. WHISKBRIAR tired. WISEDALE was unable to threaten. NIGHT PRINCESS quit badly. BRIGHT SPOT worked his way to the leaders gradually after the opening quarter mile, wore down WOODLARK for the command and fought it out in determined fashion the entire last eighth. WOODLARK, quickest to begin, was under slight reserve when outrun by WHITE TOPPER, raced to the front when the pacemaker began tiring and held on stubbornly to the end. ELLEN H., away slowly, was forced to circle her field to gain a contending position and was unable to reach the first two in the closing drive. DIANAPAT was well placed, although unable to close any appreciable amount of ground when placed under punishment. FLAG ORLAND was unable to threaten the leaders. NIKKI B. was in close quarters repeatedly in the run through the back" stretch. WHITE TOPPER quit. ESPRIT was outrun. NOTICE ME was outpaced in the run through the back stretch, was sent up fast on the outside midway of the turn, wore down FERDINAND for the lead after reaching the stretch, drawing out steadily during the last eighth. FERDINAND, hard hustled to shake off PANDONNA, drew clear, but, despite being placed under punishment, was unable to keep the pace when challenged. ADDIS, well placed, was unable to reach the leaders when called upon. PANDONNA had good early speed, was caught in a jam nearing the far turn and had to take up sharply. She was unable to threaten thereafter. SAVING GRACE was unable to keep up. BLODDOCK was outrun. FIFTH RACE 1 MILE. Clingendaal, Aug. 14, 1937—1:36—3—124. Graded Allowances rr A£±A£* Class C. INFIDOX, away fast, drew clear when reaching the back stretch, was taken under stout restraint, permitting SHES RIGHT to go to the front, then saved ground entering the stretch, was moving up gamely on the inside when SHES RIGHT bore over, his rider was forced to take up sharply, came to the outside and was clear at the end. BLIND EAGLE was well placed all the way, lost ground on the stretch turn and then came willingly. CASH O BOY closed a good gap after trailing early. SHES RIGHT moved up to take the lead midway of the back stretch, interfered sharply with INFIDOX in the stretch, then tired. She was disqualified from fourth place. MIXED WEATHER was rated along under slight reserve, was no match for the winner in the closing test, but came again in the last strides to wear down OCLEARY. The latter, restrained while in pursuit of the pace, moved up gamely in the stretch and tired in the closing strides. SAXOPAL was unable to better his position. GRANDPAS BOY raced evenly. SUN FIGHTER, far back early, responded gamely to punishment and finished with good energy, although unable to endanger the leaders. WROUGHT IRON dropped back after straightening out in the back stretch and was unable to close any appreciable amount of ground when placed under pressure. HIGH TENSION moved up steadily on the inside midway of the back stretch, responded gamely to pressure, but was not quite good enough. JERDAN moved up gradually when called upon in the last half mile, but was unable to make up any ground during the closing drive. OLD MAID closed some ground. MIDSHIPMAN closed a good gap.
