TOTACHE was unable to keep pace early, began working way up on the outside in the last five sixteenths and, closing with a rush through the stretch, was along inside the last seventy yards, drawing clear at the close. LONG X. had speed from the start, opened up a good lead, saved ground into the stretch, but faltered in the closing drive. CHANALIS raced into contention with a rush nearing the stretch and held on willingly to the close. MORE SIR was prominently placed throughout, although unable to better position in- the stretch drive. ORITA was unable to close any ground under pressure. SIR BROOKSIDE raced wide leaving the back stretch. BUZZ ME had early speed, tiring through the stretch after being impeded. JUNGLE JACK, away slowly, trailed far back throughout. SAXONBY, under slight reserve while following along in nearest chase of PEON as the latter established the pace, raced to the front when called upon and, hard ridden at the end, had enough in reserv* to hold safe the bid of HURRY ANN. The latter, far back early, began moving up in the last three-eighths, came wide into the stretch and finished with a rush. PEON had speed from the start and. rated along in front, tired in the last eighth. THE TROUT, taken up when in close quarters in the run through the back stretch, came willingly when gaining racing room. CANTAMORE saved ground into the stretch and closed some ground. MAELONG was unable to reach the leaders. CAMBREEZE tired. MAESTRUNG was taken up at the start. MIKES GRACE quit. GOLDEN FATE was under steadying restraint while following along in nearest chase of the pace, wore down PROSPECTUS when reaching "the stretch and, hard ridden at the end, held SUN KINCSEN safe. The latter began bettering position in the last five sixteenths and, coming to the outside for the closing test, was gaining on the winner steadily at the end. HARVEY G. O. came willingly in the stretch run. PROSPECTUS raced to the front at once, opened up a good lead, only to falter in the last three sixteenths. The others were outrun throughout. BLUE MARVEL was slow to settle into his best stride, worked way up gradually after swinging from the back stretch and, responding gamely to pressure, wore down the leaders after passing the eighth post, drawing out through the last sixteenths. DINNER JACKET, prominent and on the outside throughout, disposed of PANDONNA for the lead and, while holding on willingly, was not good enough. TRICKWICK dropped back badly in the opening eighth and, far back until the last five sixteenths, came to. the extreme outside of his field when reaching the stretch and finished with a rush, getting up in the concluding stride to wear down JANE VITO. The latter was forwardly placed throughout, tiring under urging through the last three sixteenths. PANDONNA, hard ridden to show the way during the first half mile, faltered thereafter. PHARO WARRIOR was well placed all the way and, while no match for the winner, held on gamely to the close. COSSE had early speed and, dropping back, came gamely in the stretch run. MINSTREL WIT, reserved until leaving the hark stretch, moved up gamely on the outside, was placed under punishment and surrendered third in the last stride. PART TIME was unable to keep up, although going gamely at the end. WINNING MARK was outrun. BRANCH WATER, unruly at the post, was started outside the stalls. She tired badly. SIXTH RACE 1 MILE. BOOTLESS trailed his field into the back stretch, was on the outside while moving to the leaders, continued wide when bettering position and held on with good energy in the closing drive. INFIDOX had speed from the start, met a determined bid from PROPH during the first half mile, then disposed of him, only to tire under pressure during the last eighth. PROPH was much used in racing with INFIDOX and dropped hark steadily after leaving the back stretch. XAVIER was unable to reach the leaders. TO THE RESCCE had brief early speed. The latter, in closest pursuit of the pace from almost the beginning, continued with good energy to , the close. TOPEE, unable to keep up during the first five-eighths, began working his way up gradually on , the outside thereafter, loomed up menacingly straightening out in the stretch, but was unable to make up , any appreciable amount of ground through the closing test. OPEN GATE, away slowly, closed some ground, although unable to endanger the leaders. ROYAL BIT was prominently placed early, but was unable to , keep up.
