H. Silberberg sold the useful performer Tepin to Louis E. Stoddard, Jr., who plans to convert him into a steeplechaser. Thomas E. Daly, who describes the races and makes announcements on the public ad- dress system at Delaware Park, was in-600 formed that he has been appointed to serve in the same capacity at Bel Air during the ten-day meeting at the Maryland track start- ing late in July. Benny Beach is making the riding engage- ments of apprentice W. Dufford, who is showing fine form in the saddle here. Entries for Thursdays program were in- sufficient at the regular closing time on Wednesday and a delay of several hours took place before the release. W. L. Branns three-year-old Challedon was given light exercise at Delaware Park Wednesday when trainer L. J. Schaefer per- mitted the Preakness winner to breeze six furlongs in 1:16. He is being pointed for the Kent Handicap on Saturday. Starter George Palmer plans a vacation on his new motor boat at the close of the meeting. A notice was posted on the bulletin board in the racing secretarys office informing horsemen that the following horses owned by George D. Widener are for sale and can be priced when inspected at the barn. They are the two year-olds Seasonal, Spanked, Close To and Anne Odette, also the three-year-olds Double Back and Lottery. The horses of Mr. and Mrs. W. Anderson were brought here from Charles Town, W. Va., to finish out the balance of the meeting. The horses were Strumming, Flying Centaur, Whisk Up and Allen Caid. The horses Dewey Bentham brought here from New York will remain on the grounds for the balance of the meeting. Jack A. Healey stated that his good filly False Point, which was turned out at Red Bank, N. J., was taken out of pasture and will be placed in training. Jockey Ira Handford, who was grounded for rough riding earlier in the meeting, ended his suspension and was back in the saddle Thursday at Delaware Park. Trainer J. Boniface loaded the horses owned by Mrs* R. H. Heighe and transferred the shipment to Rockingham Park to await the opening at the New Hampshire track. William Wallace was programmed as trainer of the Millsdale horses and those of Mrs. A. Pelleteri that are racing here. The horses that Dan Hardy has been racing here since the opening of the meeting May 30 were shipped to Latonia. Additions to the schooling list at Delaware Park Wednesday were the platers Kelley Pot and Pascua. They will join morning classes held in the six furlongs chute each morning. Jockey Justin Howell, who has been vacationing in New Orleans, arrived from the Crescent City to join the stable of P. D. Watts and augment the riding colony for the balance of the current meeting.
