GIN FRITTERS, much the best, was hustled along from the start, relinquished the lead approaching the final three-sixteenths and, on the inside in the heavier footing, responded with strong energy in the final strides and just got up. GARDEN POOL, under mild restraint in following the winner in the early stages, was strongly urged through the stretch and, taking a slight lead in the final stages, just failed to last. COUNTRY PRINCE, steered to the outside for the final drive, drifted out through the last sixteenth and was racing gamely at the end. DISTRACT, awav slowlv and on the outside for the entire trip, finished gamely in the middle of the track. NEW DISCOVERY had no mishaps. BUTTER was outrun. PRENNY was through after the first quarter. ALAN CHICLE, under a careful ride, was steadied along in the early stages, was steered out when called upon turning into the stretch and. moving to the leaders with a rush when straightened out, drew clear in the final sixteenth. MEXICO CITY, outrun in the early stages and steered to the outside f r the final drive, responded to strong urging and was up in the final stride to finish in a dead heat for the place with STEEL SPUR. The latter, hustled from the start and on the inside, was strongly urged when challenged and, holding on gamely in the drive, gave way to the winner, but reached the finish on even terms with MEXICO CITY. COME BY CHANCE, lucky to slip through between the leaders rounding the far turn, moved into command approaching the final eighth, swerved nearing the end, but was straightened out in the final strides and lasted. UCANMAYKIT, prominent from the start, was steadied around the turns and. responding to strong urging, finished strongly on the extreme outside and was on even terms with ERB at the finish. The latter, hustled along from the start, raced wide turning into the stretch and, strongly ridden in the final drive, held on gamely to the end. SHERIFF EUGENE moved into command rounding the far turn, saved ground, but tired in the final strides. ETHELS CHOICE, in close quarters rounding the far turn, failed to reach the leaders when clear.
