FIFTY-FOUR ELIGIBLE FOR ARUNGTON INAUGURAL I Millsdale Stables Isaroma Assigned Top Weight of 1 22 Pounds ♦ Chicago Racing Shifts Next Monday From Lincoln Fields to Mammoth North Side Track — Many Inaugural Nominees Now on Grounds • ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 22.— Robert S. Shelley, racing secretary at Arlington Park, today announced his weights for the Inaugural Handicap, and placed the Millsdale Stables Isaroma at the head of the list, under 122 pounds. The Inaugural, worth ,500 in added money, will feature the opening program at the popular and palatial North-side racing plant, next Monday. The Inaugural drew a list of fifty-four nominations, and among those eligible for the seven furlongs sprint are some of the foremost sprinters in the Middle West. The speedy Isaroma is not considered among the likely starters, but several of the high weights grouped just below the Millsdale performer are almost sure to be found ■ = —-Mil — e in the the field field of of three-year-olds three-year-olds and and in the the field field of of three-year-olds three-year-olds and and older horses which will vie for honors in the first of eight features on Arlington Parks lavish stakes program. Many of the nominees for the Inaugural already are on the scene receiving their final preps, while a number of others are still at Lincoln Fields to be transferred here over the week end. STAKE LISTS LARGE. Just as the Inaugural Handicap drew a large subscription list, so did other stakes on Arlingtons calendar. The Matron Handicap, for fillies and mares, attracted thirty-two representatives of this division, the Star3 and Stripes Handicap, twenty-seven three-year-olds and upward, of both sexes, and the Hyde Park Stakes, for two-year-olds, ninety-one juveniles. Of the 247 which were nominated last September for the Arlington Lassie Stakes, seventy-five still are eligible; seventy-seven, including four supplementary entries, remain in the Classic, which originally drew 152 nominees, and of the 337 named for the Ar- Continued on thirty-third page.
