1 SUFFOLK DOWNS NOTES | $, ® Charles Stickney, steward at Rockingham Park, was a clubhouse visitor, Wayne Milner. left end of Washington Redskin football team and at present employed by Mort Mahoney in the mutuel plant at Suffolk Downs, signed his contract to play football for the Washington team this season. Nomination blanks for the 1941 Preakness were distributed at Suffolk Downs. Nominations close July 17. A special award for this running has been made, the nominator of the winner receiving ,500 and 50 going to the nominator of the second horse, and 50 to the third. Ferdinand Castro arrived at Rockingham Park with the two South American-breds Discobolo and Old Sweety, the property of Alfonso Ortiz. Stalls have been bedded down at Rockingham Park to receive the eight members of the Mrs. R. H. Heighe string trainer J. Boniface is shipping from Delaware. Broadway Juel, the property of Mrs. J. H. P. Richards, of Lexington, Ky., arrived at Suffolk Downs, being shipped here from Fairmount Park. Jockey Lee Hardy has been engaged to ride Skin Deep for A. G. Vanderbilt in the Miles Standish Stakes, ,000 added feature, to be decided Saturday. Jockey Joe Rosen has been engaged to pilot Clodion in the Paul Revere Handicap 0,000 added, to be run July 1.
