j a 1 o s C r GOVERNOR LECHE RESIGNS £ATON ROUGE, La., June 22.— Richard Leche last night announced his resignation as Louisianas governor, effective within a week. He will be succeeded by the present lieutenant-governor, Earl K. Long, brother of the colorful Huey P. Long, United States senator at the time of his assassination here Governor Leche assigned ill health as the reason for his resignation.
