Long Branchs Spring Meet e Will Be Run at Dufferin Park TONRONTO, Ont., May 26. A change in the Canadian racing scene for 1942 was assured Saturday afternoon with Fred S. Orpens announcement that the spring meeting at Long Branch was cancelled but the dates will be kept at popular Dufferin Park This means two weeks of racing at the half-miler. The Long Branch dates of June 9 to 16 will be the first meeting and from June 17 to June 24 the Dufferin schedule will be maintained. It is the intention of the Orpen manage- 1 ment to maintain the regular Long Branch stakes schedule at the short-corner course, though there will be a necessity for slight adjustments. Fred Orpen and George Hay, the guiding lights of Long Branch and Dufferin, were decidedly pleased with the outlook when official approval came from Ottawa. It marked the first action of the kind since the Millar Bill was passed.
