SHANTY BOAT, breaking quickly to take a short lead, saved ground while under strong urging to shake off STAR STRUNG and LADY TENNIE, moved out gradually on the stretch turn, then increased her lead neanng the end. LADY TEN Nib, racing close to the leaders early, slipped through on the inside for the stretch drive, but could not threaten the winner. SOME WHERE was in the thick of contention throughout. SEVENTEEN GUNS began slowly and could not get to the leaders. STAR STRUNG displayed much early speed, then tired. BOBBYS GIRL raced evenly. SISTERS BQY raced greenly. ROWES QUEST trailed far back. TIME NETTA, bettering her position steadily when settle in stride, circled her companv, but was no threat in the drive. OSWELL saved ground while racingjin the first flight and held on well. SANDY MANDY was handled stoutly and raced evenly. LADY DIVINE began slowly and passed tiring horses. COLLEGE WIDOW was repeatedly blocked early. ANALOGY sprinted into an easy lead.- but cave wav after five-eighths and quit fast. CAVALAGE failed to hold on. Won driving; second and third the same. GAY TROUBADOUR, lacking early speed, was sent to the outside when straightened in the back stretch, worked his way forward while racing wide, neared the leaders, entering the stretch, then, continuing strongly, overhauled REMOLEE and got up in the last fifty yards. REMOLEE, forcing a steady pace, went into the lead before reaching the stretch, but could not stay with the winner when caught. NAVIGATION, hard hustled to hold the lead in the first five-eighths, tired under severe pressure in the drive. GRADATIM was a stout contender throughout. BILL K. could not get into contention. PLACEMENT was always outrun. ROMNEY ROYAL tired. SLICK " MOLASSES showed nothing. JIM, strongly hustled and moving abreast of the pacemaker, responded to take a short lead in the last eighth and, holding on resolutely under a vigorous drive, just lasted. CRIMSON LANCER, in the thick of contention from the beginning, adc stout challenges early and, finishing stoutly on the outside, just failed to get up. LER-LIN raced well under his weight and continued with good energy in the final test. ALFHANGRIER, outrun and trailing to the final turn, gained stoutly in the closing drive. MOST ALERT, sluggish at the break, was rushed up fast on the inside of the leaders, then had little left for the drive. BARRACA was not good enough. STAR CANTER failed to get clear when in front, and quit. VENDORS LIEN, caught in tight quarters at the first turn"recovered gamely and, circling to the outside for the closing drive, finished strongly to be up in the last seventy yards. GLITTER GHtC, going in a forward position, challenged stoutly nearing the home stretch and, saving ground, fought it out gamely. ROYAL ECHO, messed about going to the first turn, moved up fast to enter contention, then came through on the inside of MANNY B., but was used up, and tired. MANNY B. sprinted into a clear lead and set a fast pace to shake off HIBLAZE, but quit fast when caught. CANIGO lost ground early, then finished on the inside in the drive. HIBLAZE had-no mishaps. SPECTATOR, hard urged from the beginning, displaced HAPPY SLAVE to take a short lead, then failed to draw clear and could not stall off the winner. SAMPLER, never far from the leaders, made repeated efforts and fought it out with good courage. NASSAUS BEAU was a keen contender to the stretch turn, then tired. MYSTIC MAN raced into the lead quickly, had good speed to dispose of repeated bids from DARK ACE, then, under strong urging, came out at the end. DARK ACE, in pursuit of the winner from the start, made several stout challenges, but was not good enough when the real test came. PIT TERRIER, poorly handled, was eased back repeatedly in the early racing, then was taken very wide when bettering his position". ROUGH GOING raced well placed,, but could not rally. GROUCHERS BOY worked his way into contention, but tired in the drive. PAY RACK was outrun. MISS SELECTION tired after three-quarters. SOUR CHERRY trailed throughout. SOME GROUCHER, kept out in the better footing, moved up between horses nearing the final turn to join the leaders and, ralfying stoutly in the stretch, overhauled SUMMER STOCK, then withstood LOVE MARK though drifting out- in the last sixteenth. LOVE MARK, forwardly rated, made strong bids in the last five-sixteenths and fought it out stubbornly in the drive when forced wide. A claim of foul lodged against the winner was not allowed. SUMMER STOCK was rated in front and saved ground, but was unable to stay in the drive. SOLARIUM, kept in the worst footing on the inside all the way, raced up to the leaders, but tired in the last three-sixteenths. CITY JUDGE tired badly. TWO ACES showed nothing. .
