Arlington Plant Being Readied for Inaugural Workmen Freshening Up and Putting Everything in Order Arlington Park, which on June 22 will open its gates for its greatest race meeting since 1929 and which, with Washington Park, will give Chicago its richest, most brilliant season of 67 consecutive days, is beginning to hum with pre-meeting activity. Workmen are engaged throughout the huge North Side plant freshening up and putting everything in spic and span order for the big crowds of turf enthusiasts certain to be attracted by the fine program that awaits them. General manager John D. Jackson states that the Arlington Park main track, grass course and training track, all wintered splendidly and will be in tip-top shape long i before the meeting opens. In fact, it will not be long before they are ready for use by horses from some of the stables expected to arrive early at the big North Side plant. The general managers office has been flooded with stall applications from all quarters of the racing map. These include many 0f the countrys biggest and best-known stables which were attracted to Arlington Park by the brilliant stake schedule and program of increased overnight races. Stated briefly, the total distribution will, be approximately 00,000. Among the more prominent stables to which stalls have been granted is Warren Wrights Calumet Farm, with 36 horses, including the great Whirlaway and the three-year-old contender, Sun Again. A number of leading stables, all familiar to Chicagoans, already have declared themselves for the Arlington meeting. A few of these and the number of thoroughbreds each wiil campaign are: Woolford Farm, 37; Dixiana, 24; Milky Way Farm, 20; Anthony Pelleteri, 20; Thomas Piatt, 22; Bomar Stable, 15; Frank Letellier, 18, and Mrs. Emil Denemark, 30.
