Mattingly, co-owner of Arnolds Actor. The races were contested over a fast track. The weather was cloudy and unsettled throughout the afternoon, but a crowd of average proportions was on hand to witness some keen sport. Bar Way led throughout the fifth race, but it was only by the shortest of margins that she lasted to. stall off Bob Hi. Apprentice jockey F. Redmon luckily escaped with a shaking up when his mount, Ring o Love, fell when midway of the stretch. Leo Clous Leicester left the maiden juvenile ranks when he came from behind through the stretch to snatch victory from Bonanza Lou and Darby Donna, the early leader, in the last few yards of the initial dash. It wasa rousing, finish. Another keen stretch struggle developed in the third event, in which Swing Queen wore down Royal Broom, the pace maker, and Miss Persel during the last 70 yards to win drawing clear.
