Fairmount Park Post Time to Be 2:00 P. M. Usual Eight Races Will Be Run-Over 600 Horses in Quarters COLLINSVILLE, 111., May 26. D. C. Burnett, general manager of the Fairmount Park Jockey Club, announced this morning that post time for the first race would be 2 p. m. Original plans were to begin the program half an hour later but, since going over the matter with the board of directors, it was agreed by all that the earlier starting time would be to the advantage of the local organization. The usual eight races will be offered, and the last race should go to the post not later than 5:30. This will give local racing fans an additional half hour to get back to their homes in St. Louis and the local region. As in the past, no racing will be staged on Mondays. More than 600 horses alr-au. are in quarters at the local track, and the only shipment to reach Fairmount Park today was one vanload which came from Beulah Park and made up of the C. D. Boyd and Duverne Emery stables. Boyd unloaded Chubbins, Oxford Lad, Tureen and Dusky Maid, while Emerys campaigners were Spanish Belle and Mesella. There are less than 100 horses unaccounted for, and they will be drifting in within the next few days for the 26-day meeting, which begins Saturday. Some of the tardy stables due to arrive here are the Byrum Bros, and A. Dunn, from Kentucky, and E. E. Major, Sr., L. Thompson, C. J. Gamble and A. Schwartz, from Chicago. Stable accommodations have been made for J. Zitnik, C. N. Finch, J. Bonnenberg, Frank Nugent, P. C. Williams, Dave Christian, Myrtle Maroon Stable, John Allgeyer, R. Shop, C. locklear, C. Phelps, D. Jardon and Henry Forrest. All are scheduled to come here from Beulah Park within the next few days and, according to racing secretary R. A. Leigh, Jr., they will be here for the opening.
