Lincolnshire Club Purse Headlines Crete Program Annual Feature Engages Fast Field of Sprinters Today CRETE, 111., May 26. Sprinters will be seen in the featured contest as the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club stages its annual Lincolnshire Country Club program at the beautiful Lincoln Fields course here tomorrow. Named for the starred event, which will be decided over a distance of seven furlongs, are Shady Brook Farms Cadmium, Howard Rouses Three Percent, W. A. Osbornes Step By, Kiwi Stables Sea Tack and Williams and Molters Don Lin II. The sprint, titled in honor of the Lincolnshire Country Club, heads one of the most attractive other than stakes programs arranged during the present meeting. In the secondary spot is the six furlongs Blue Island Purse, for three-year-olds and bringing together such speedy performers as Defense, Zig Zag, Tomochichi, Burgoo Dinner, First Prize, Sis Baker, Boot and Spur, Lums Pride, Stinging Bee, After School and Bayridge. This event promises to rival the Lincolnshire as an attraction. Among other races on the card of eight are two to be staged over the one mile and a sixteenth course and one at the longer route of nine furlongs. Some of the better plater sprinters are among those named for the Old Hickory Farm Claiming Purse and large fields have also been named for i the remaining two numbers.
