Taddywawa Succumbs Shortly After Dropping Colt Foal CRETE, 111., May 28. Taddywawa, a consistent winner during her racing career and one of the more valued of the brood mares at John Mikels farm near Carlock, 111., is dead. The 16-year-old daughter of Hand Grenade and Leggogal succumbed within a short time after foaling a colt at the Mikel place. Her offspring lived but three days. On the tracks Taddywawa starred under the colors of several owners. She accounted for 29 races and 8,320 in purse money. Flabbergast, another of the Mikel mares, lost a colt foal by Last Servant, the youngster expiring within a short time after her birth.
