BURNING SANDS, alertly handled, took command- approaching the stretch, then withstood a brisk drive to retain his advantage. DARBY DIADEM saved ground when outrun to the final -turn, came gamely when called upon in the last three-sixteenths and was getting to the winner at the close. PRINCE PUCK, a forward factor from the start, faltered in the closing stages. DARING FEAT tired aftofriisplaying good speed for three-eighths. ICY RUN was done early. WISE MOSS began quickly, worked her wavup steadily after the opening quarter while racing on tlic extreme outside and, after wearing down CAMP VERDE in the stretch, drew clear. CAMP VERDE took command before going a quarter, set the pace the first half mile under pressure from ANXIETY and disposed of the latter, but could not withstand-the winner. ANXIETY, much used engaging CAMP VERDE to the stretch, "faltered in the drive. LAST GOLD was unable to threaten. BOOM ON was never dangerous. VALDINA GROOM displayed good speed to: the final turn, then gave way suddenly. COOLING SPRING was outrun. Overweight Wise Moss, 3 pounds. SEVENTH RACE 1 MILE AND 70" YARDS. The latter took command when BRIGHT ANN faltered, then lfeld on well when hard urged in the stretch and just failed to last. BANKER JIM improved his position steadily after leaving the back stretch; but could not reach the leaders when subjected to punishment in the drive; MAE H., Jar back and outrun for three-quarters, came to the inside on. the final turn and closed resolutely. SIDOUT finished strongly. ARANMORE was done after a half mile. VALDINA. FIRO was always far back. BRIGHT ANN raced lorwardly placed to the stretch, then gave way suddenjy. .
