Frank Woodward. WENT TO POST-5:53J. OFF AT 5:55 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won ridden out; second and third driving. SIR SPRITE, slow as usual early, moved up quickly on the final turn, was taken to the outside in the stretch and, finishing very fast, was going away at the end under mild urging. TOP REWARD improved his position from a slow beginning, went through between horses on the turn, finished fast but could not threaten the winner. DIAMOND DICK was sent to the front in the run for the first turn, was rated there while saving ground, drew clear on the turn when called upon, but weakened. FLORIZAN SAM made up some ground when called upon. WISE PAISANO displayed good early speed, but weakened under pressure. ROMULUS was unable to engage the leaders. ONE ONLY could not keep up. TOP SERGEANT, rated closest to the pace of FLAG ANCHOR, raced the latter into submission in the stretch and held HERES HARVEY safe under hard urging. .HERES HARVEY was not hurried early, saved ground on the turn, and finished stoutly. YANK BOMBER, in a contending position throughout, moved up on the outside on the turn, but was unable to improve his position. BRADWIN, outrun early, made up some ground. FLAG ANCHOR was sent into a clear lead, saved ground, but flattened out when challenged. SWELL KID was never prominent. PHARACHICLE was outrun in a very dull effort. Scratched 00804 Hunstman, 113.
