Poolesyille Hangs On To Defeat Boy Knight Ekes Out Nose Decision Over Choice in Delaware Offering DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 24. Charles C. Jones Poolesville, extreme outsider of the field competing in Delaware Parks mile and a sixteenth Lairt Purse, held on tenaciously through the final furlong to prevail by a nose over Gustave Rings Phar-aday while turning the distance in l:441s. Crispin Oglebays favored Boy Knight, after encountering numerous setbacks during the running, salvaged the third money over Houghton P. Metcalf s Lucky Hit. As has been the"case for nearly the entire meeting, the form players were having more than their share of trouble and the Lairt proved no exception. With Pharaday and Boy Knight holding down the favorites role a various stages of the wagering, the latter finally was elected to carry the money of the "chalk" players in the crowd of approximately 12,000 enthusiastic fans. Neither of the first two choices proved competent enough, however and Poolesville returned 9.80.
