Hernandez Duo In Father Bill Daly Bold Question Topweighted Of Eight Shifty Sprinters In Todays Detroit Feature FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 24. It is a better than average card that racing secretary Charles F. Henry has arranged for tomorrows sport at the Fair Grounds. A high-priced claiming race titled the Father Bill Daly, brings together the best field to contest the six furlongs distance. The eight entered carry claiming tags ranging from 5,000 to 2,000 and include several local favorites. Topping the supporting card is the C. C. Van Meter Purse, confined to three-year-olds under allowance conditions and also at six furlongs in which nine are listed to face the starter. Enthusiasts for races over the turf are offered a treat in that both the opening race and the nightcap number will be decided over the about one mile of the grass course. Chance to Atone for Losses Bold Question, who has had two unsuccessful starts here this season gets a chance to atone in the Father Bill Daly. In his latest venture last Saturday he had scant chance from a very slow beginning while in his previous outing, his seasonal debut, he was a creditable second. He will have as a running mate Valdina Senora who gave evidence of her present fitness by a victory over this racing strip. Stiff competition to the Hernandez pair can be expected from Johr Farms See D., and Gris-som and Shermans Lees Summit, both of whom were winners at last asking. In the Van Meter the Hemstead entry of Brown Hostess and Hemflag appear to hold a strong hand if the first named starts. The invader from Canada brought a creditable record from the Dominion and turned in a sparkling second in her lone local appearance. A. Ferraras Wow is well placed with opposition of this calibre and is right on edge just now as demonstrated by that recent third. Anthony Graffagnini will be represented by Little Keith and while this son of Sir Damion has yet to show his best prowess this season he has been carefully prepped and should make his presence felt with this evenly balanced lot.
