Garrett WENT TO POST-5:52. OFF AT 5:521 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. BROCADE worked her way up on the outside leaving the backstretch and responded to stout pressure to wear down MACKABY in the final strides. The latter, under light restraint and saving ground for six furlongs, came through on the inside nearing the quarter pole and disposed of SLAPPY, then failed to hold the winner safe under vigorous handling. SLAPPY was allowed to open a long lead in the first quarter, then was taken under restraint until challenged and held on gamely to the end. MUREX closed a big gap in a good effort. CALABOZO was caught in close quarters while moving into contention, recovered and closed with good energy. FUNROW remained with the early pace under urging, then weakened. WINGED PHARIAH was unable to keep up. GRAND FORTUNE showed good speed for six furlongs.
