TIGER VALLEY, unhurried when outrun early, came between horses for the drive and, after assuming command inside the stretch, won drawing away. SCHOLAR TIME worked his way forward and closed resolutely, but could not reach the winner: POLLY W. was caught between horses when straightened for the final test, recovered gamely and finished full of run. VERDOR took command nearing the furlong marker, but weakened during the late stages. MISS PROSPECT tired under punishment ARROW QUILL was bumped and thrown off stride nearing the three-sixteenths post and came back sore. CAT LIKE began sluggishly. STIMOMAR quit. TRIBAL II. was carried wide on the near turn, bore to the inside sharply entering the stretch, impeded ARROW QUILL and showed nothing thereafter. B. T. LOU quit to a walk. POLITICS, never far back, was hustled to the front on the upper turn while on the outside, held a clear margin when settled in the stretch and maintained his advantage under strong handling. JOSEPH JR. could not get to the winner when hard ridden through the final furlong, but was easily best of the others. DELIVER began sluggishly, then finished willingly when set down for the stretch run. QUEEN FLASH, much used engaging for the early lead, had little left. MISS OGIFTIE lacked speed. TWEEN MEALS could not keep up. RICHWALL was done early. CADET TOM was always outrun. WHITE HEELS quit badly when displaced. TWO ANNS showed nothing. RITA DUGAN raced in closest pursuit of the early pacemaker, forged to the front while saving ground on the inside through the stretch and out-gamed DARK TINY in a long drive. DARK TINY gave way to the winner entering the stretch, but held on tenaciously to prevail over the others. WAZA WANA raced evenly through the stretch without mishap. RAMONA moved up with a rush on the near turn, then flattened out. COON TAIL failed to stay after displaying brief speed. DEE WASH could not keep up. ARTLESS was never formidable. FERINSTANCE tired. LIMERICK BOY was always outrun as were the others. FORMAN UNSEATED HIS RIDER IN THE GATE AND RAN OFF. HE WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED BY THE STEWARDS AND ALL WAGERS ON HIM WERE ORDERED REFUNDED. PAR EXCELLENCE was steadied during the early running, bumped repeatedly with MEDIATOR during the stretch run. then closed determinedlv. MEDIATOR encountered interference when bumping with PAR EXCELLENCE through the final furlong and, under punishment, could not overtake the top ones. POWELLS OUT caught tiring horses. LADY ALSAB had no excuse. PRINCE TOM failed to stay after showing good early foot. LA CYGNE fell back immediately after the break. NOTCHSTICK lacked speed. DESERT WITCH tired. ETERNAL SUMMER quit. SCAPAGAL was shuffled back on the far turn, then came again during the late stages. CLASSY SCHOLAR raced extremely wide throughout, losing all chance. ENGELS MILLE tired under punishment. REIGHS COMET, outsprinted the field into the first turn, gave way momentarily to POMPS GAL between calls down the backstretch, took command again and maintained his advantage thereafter when ridden out. POMPS GAL raced in close pursuit of REIGHS COMET but failed to respond when roused for the stretch run. SGT.. ABE could not improve his position when hard ridden through the final furlong.
