Jake Lowenstein Shipping Large String to Homewood CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville! Ky., May 18. — Jake Lowenstein, for many years one of the more prominent turfmen campaigning on Kentucky and Illinois tracks, is to leave here late Saturday for Washington Park. Lowenstein is to have a useful and well-balanced unit for racing during the 1951 season and his charges have trained unusually well during the past month. Mrs. Lowenstein is to be represented by Glance, a promising two-year-old Balladier — Ene colt, and the hard-hitting Trixie; while Lowensteins own silks are to be carried by Rain tree, "Screemin Jack, and Leavenworth, a recent winner at the Downs. Mrs. Charlea Jones, of Bashford Manor Farms, is sending Lady Libby and Local Belle to Homewood, while Mrs. W. C. Davis colorbearers are Alun and Unham- , pered. One of the better thoroughbreds in the Lowenstein string is William E. Schmidts Holly Sweet, who displayed good speed in Downs engagements and is rapidly approaching peak form. Rounding out the stable are Millard Waldheims Nightmarish and Little Less;4 Henry Tikulski and Thomas Hylands Texas Oil, Mistress Edith, and Marie Kaye.
