CRACK REWARD, forwardly placefl from the beginning, assumed command entering the stretch and drew clear under brisk urging. DANADA RED raced well throughout, responded readily when set down through the stretch, but could not get to the top one, although easily best of the others. CHECK ME IN lacked early speed and could not menace the leaders when set down for the drive. BEAU FORTUNE began sluggishly and raced wide during the last three-eighths. NEWELLS GIRL, alertly ridden, reached the lead after disposing of PAPPYS REBEL, but had nothing left for the drive. T0LECA was through early. BOOTS BEST raced evenly to the stretch, finished willingly, but could not menace the top one. BAZAAR QUEEN raced well to the stretch, then drifted out under a weak ride. BUCKS FANCY had early speed, engaged BLOODY STEP for a half mile, then faltered. EASY LAD never reached serious contention while under listless handling. NEB JR. was outrun. RETORQUEO began slowly. ROMAN SANDAL raced evenly to the stretch, assumed command when settled for the drive and, continuing willingly under urging, held GAY HUNTER safe. The latter bcre out badly frcm the beginning, was kept to the outside for the stretch run and could not overtake the winner, although much the best of the others. BULL FORD engaged LEASE HOUND to the stretch, then weakened. LEASE HOUND went to the front early, made the pace for a half mile; but failed to stay wher. set down in the drive. WAR SHAM was outrun. DONKE SERENADE, forwardly placed from the outset, went into command entering the stretch, held a good lead when settled for the drive, but faltered nearing the finish and could not withstand the winner. LITTLE IMP, away poorly, was forced to ease back when steered into close quarters at the upper turn, then was sent around horses entering the stretch, was under poorly-judged handling during the drive, but finished fast on his own courage.
