Judgment Against Williams Might Cqncel Aragon Bout LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 18 UP.— Status of the Ike Williams-Art Aragon world lightweight title fight slated here next month was in doubt today after local superior court action was returned against the champion. Superior Judge Eugene P. Pay handed down a 0,000 settlement in favor of promoter Joe Lynch yesterday. Lynch alleged Williams ran out on a championship bout with John Thomas scheduled at Gilmore Stadium. The sum represents the profit Lynch expected to realize. The ruling means Lynch could move in on any purse Williams receives for fighting Aragon here. This could bring about cancellation of the fight set for next month. Tipoff on whether the bout will be held should come before noon today. The state athletic commission set noon today as the deadline for Williams and his manager Blinky Palermo to post a ,500 appearance bond. Williams has the right to appeal the judgment which means the bout might go on as scheduled. Lynch testified yesterday he guaranteed Williams 7,500 to meet Thomas and that the contract was signed for that amount. [Williams was not represented during the I court action.
