Dont Regret Deal Sending Minoso to Sox — Green berg CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 25. — UP — General manager Hank Greenberg of the Cleveland Indians denied reports today that he was unhappy over having traded sensational rookie Orestes Minoso to the red-hot Chicago White Sox. Greenberg also denied, vehemently, published reports that he had not wanted Minoso to go to the White Sox, but had offered another rookie, Harry "Suitcase" Simpson instead. "Absolutely untrue," Greenberg said. "We never offered Simpson to anyone." Greenberg added that White Sox manager Paul Richards wanted Minoso, who went to Chicago in the three-way deal that brought pitcher Lou Brissie here from the Philadelphia Athletics. "Minoso didnt fit into our plans," Greenberg said, "but Simpson did. I never offered Simpson to Frank Lane White Sox general manager as Lane is quoted as saying. "Im perfectly happy with the trade. . . . I knew Minoso better than anyone and knew what he could do, but we wanted Brissie and wanted to keep Simpson," he said, "and thats all there is to it."
