DRAKENSBERG was never far back, had to be steadied for lack of room leaving the turn, forced her way between horses in the drive and wore down LANDLORD. The latter, within striking distance while saving ground, went through on the rail in the drive, took command between calls the final furlong and just missed. LEADERSHIP was forced to race slightly wide while a sharp factor and turned in a good effort. YOUR SUN went up on the outside with a belated bid. MIKE M. drove between horses to wrest command in the stretch and faltered. QUICK RETORT faltered in the drive. BEAVER TAIL weakened after making the pace for five furlongs. QUILLET was slow to reach best stride, was forced to race wide improving position and finished willingly. ARIS BRIG took up when blocked on the rail nearing the turn, gained command briefly between calls in the stretch and drifted out when weakening. SAINT LOUP went by tired horses. LINKYTHORN lacked room between horses on the backstretch. RAMAJO tired. SEA MAGIC was badly outrun, then went by fatigued horses. BY POLLY gave way after showing early speed, as did MISS LAMAR. VALADIUM dwelt at the start and trailed until the final quarter, went between horses with a rush to dispose of the leaders and drew clear. HAY MOM saved ground early, came out for the drive, but was no match for the winner. MY BEBBY raced slightly wide leaving the turn while in command and faltered nearing the end. RAM-PALLION made a mild bid on the inside entering the stretch and gave way. BEDAZZLE had no excuse. WINDFLOWER bore out leaving the turn. INANABOUT showed nothing. Overweight— Valadium, 2 pounds. JAZZ BABY was sent through on the rail to be on nearly even terms, Urew clear when punished and won fully extended. EARLY HEATH, with the leaders on the outside, was permitted to race slightly wide on the turn, held, on well, but was not good enough in the drive. DARK FAVORITE dueled for the. lead .from the beginning and faltered only in the late stages. DANADA GIFT improved position on the rail rounding the turn, but lacked a closing rally. LOTUS BLOSSOM was outrun. SEPTEMBER, away fast, dropped back under rating and failed to respond in the final quarter mile. MY CELESTE showed a dull effort. MISS DEGREE quit. MIGHTY SON worked his way up between horses, came in entering the stretch and closed willingly. TITLE HOLDER was a sharp contender between horses, was impeded midway of the drive and failed to rally. FRIVOLITY weakened slightly in the drive. SKY BLUE was pinched back after the start. FUTILE was through before five furlongs.
