Zaharias Favored in Fourth Leg of Weathervane Tourney WHITE PLAINS, N. Y., May 25.— UP —Mrs. Babe Didrikson. Zaharias, out in front as usual, was favored to stay there tomorrow when the nations leading women golfers begin the final 36 holes of the cross-country Weathervane Tournament. Mrs. Zaharias, the Tampa, Fla., stylist, has a two-stroke lead over her nearest competitor, Patty Berg of Minneapolis, as a result of previous rounds played at Dallas, Pebble Beach., Calif., and Indianapolis. The two women thus far have monopolized the 7,000 Weathervane — richest ladies tourney of the year — Mrs. Zaharias posting a 450 stroke . total for the first I three 36-hole rounds and Miss Berg carding a 452. Tomorrow and Sundays event is the last of four which altogether comprise 144 holes of medal play. So thoroughly have the Babe and Miss Berg outdistanced the remainder of the star-studded field that Louise Suggs of Carrollton, Ga., their nearest rival, will begin the last round trailing Mrs. Zaharias by 14 strokes. She totaled 464 strokes.
