EAGLE SPEED responded willingly to engage the leader in the early stretch, drew clear briefly and withstood the late bid of STORM BIRD. The latter was slow to settle into stride and closed full of run. BABY SONG, a factor from the start, was a bit rank when sent outside of the" leader in the early stretch, then was not good enough in the drive. CECIL M. lacked a rally after being formidable from the outset. FLAMINIAN WAY closed well through the final furlong. BUNGALESE displayed her usual speed to set the pace and quit in the final furlong. ROUNDELAY faltered when outrun for the lead. DUFF could not keep uo. YES .SHE WILL and GRAND BARTER broke badly. GRITTY threatened in the early stretch and drifted out thereafter. GREMLIN saved ground to move into the-first flight boldly in the early stretch, then hung. EMPTY NOOSE weakened and finished in a dead-heat with GREAT HOPE.
