= A _ .. . . O Rancocas Draws Thirteen Fillies Chrisinda Looms Favorite Over Papoose, Swell Dish And Cinda at Garden State By WILLIAM PHILLIPS Staff Correspondent GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 25. — The 5,000 added Rancocas Stakes, a five-furlong dash restricted to two-year-old fillies, will tomorrow launch Garden State Park upon a golden three-day period, which will feature a succession of three stakes renewals, climaxed by the 0,000 Jersey Stakes on the closing day of this meeting on Wednesday, May 30. Attendance and mutuel figures have soared during this 25-day session to make it the most successful spring meeting at this course. Clear and mild weather is predicted for this area tomorrow, and another big turn-out is expected, to view the scampering of the 13 fillies in the Rancocas. - • The race appears wide open, although the public will center their attention on Mrs. J. W. Lees dtoisinda, who impressively won the first race of her career here two weeks ago and followed that up by finishing second to Cigar Maid in the Fashion Stakes at Belmont Park. Invader From Middle West Mrs. Fred Sharpe*and R. E. Mullen, Jr.s, Swell Dish, a stakes-winning daughter of Hash who traveled all the way here from Kentucky for this event, will also demand respect, along with Hal Price Headleys Papoose, Cary C. Boshamers Miss Nosoca and Jouett Shouses Cinda. The others, anyone of whom is capable of an upset, are Sunshine Stables Blessusgals, Herbert E. Simpsoris Mile. Ell, Mrs. R. C. Hodges Star Delight, Yolo Stables Tonga, E. M. OBriens Sodale, Mrs. Alfred Roberts Some Case, Philip Godfreys Rachel G. and C. H. Bohns Clever Reward. The last named is the only first-time starter in the field. Chrisinda appears to have plenty of speed to carry her out of trouble. She led from wire to wire -oyer a sloppy track tor win at the first asking here, and then forced a swift pace before weakening slightly behind Cigar Maid at New York. Papoose was only a neck behind Chri-[ sinda in the Fashion while finishing third [ and, although a maiden, she also turned ! in a corking good effort to place second ] to Blue Case in the Rosedale at Jamaica. Swell Dish captured the Debutante Stakes at the New Orleans Fair Grounds. [ In the Churchill Downs edition of this . race, the Hash filly finished fifth, but previously had won two overnight events in addition to her stakes triumph. [ Jouett Shouses Cinda has won three allowance affairs, while Star Delight has tallied twice. j Miss Nosoca, a , small but rangy" filly, f impressed local observers in her two races here, and although still a maiden and mov- ing up in company, she will have a host of backers tomorrow.
