Splendidly riden by jockey Paul J. Bailey, who was completing a sadle double for the day, the winner responded reaidly when called upon for her best efforts and under adept. handling waff along in the final stride to out-game William Burkes Deal Me In by the narrowest of nose margins. Walmac Farms highly regarded Aadms Off Ox rallied mildly to secure the lesser honors three and one-half lengths to the rear of the closely-lapped leaedrs and two and one-half lengths before Reverie Knoll Farms Pharos Brother. Locust Lawn Farms Belcon, Mr. and Mrs. George B. Holmans March Proudly, Ray Wilkinsons Trick Flyer, and Ralph Lowes Daleen comprised the remainder of the group and finished in that order. Completely overlooked in. the speculation, Lady of Time paid 7.60 straight. Running time for the six panels was a creditable 1:12%. Starter Reuben White had the misfortune of pressing the button at an inopportune time and as a result Pharos Brother was compelled to break a bit tardily. Immediately after the start was effected Deal Me In quickly sprinted into a clear lead followed by Trick Flyer, Bel-con and Lady of Time. Before the initial half mile was traversed, Deal Me In had , * raced the faint-hearted Trick Flyer into defeat and the runner-up was replaced by » the eventual victress. 1 Adams Off Ox Makes Bid Curving into the home lane Deal Me In e remained on the lead as the favored Adams 7 Off Ox began his game but futile rally on a a the complete outside. Nearing the furlong , marker the leader appeared to be going j quite easily and momentarily it appeared as if the Stagehand gelding -would lead a from flag fall to finish. However, once in-e side the stretch, Lady of Time uncorked Q her victorious rally and wore down Deal Me In with each stride. e William Crumps Granite Flyn encountered but a, minimum of difficulty in de- " — _ feating a capacity group of juveniles who j contested the third dash. The ie winner required :59% to traverse the ab-n breviated journey. j_ Heavily overcast skies, which gave every r~ indication of showers later in the after-3£ noon, were partly responsible for the drop in attendance to 7,763 persons. The racing ;_ strip was perhaps in the best condition of _ the meeting. Jockey Thearl Williams guided G. R. Whites Kenayr to a front-running length victory over J. W. Sniders Potentate n. in the seven furlongs opener. Wolpak Farms Kitty Kat closed determinedly to outgame John Entines Miss Nap for the minor honors. Kenayer stepped the assigned distance in 1:26% and paid 0.80 straight. William Hal Bishops favored Technicolor raced to expectations in the second and completed a Daily Double with Kenayr of 3.80. Jockey Harold "Red" Keene handled the Bishop racer in a faultless manner to reach the wire a neck before H. E. Nevins Swirling. Lanmar Farms Netch-erette closed with good energy to earn the third award. Technicolor was timed the seven furlongs in 1:26%. The winner rewarded his host of backers .80 in the straight "tote" pool.
