Yankees Blast Indians, 8-2; End Victory Streak at Nine CLEVELAND, Ohio, June 5 UP.— Allie Reynolds brought the Cleveland Indians nine-game winning streak to an abrupt halt today as the New York Yankees salvaged the final game of a four-game series, 8 to 2, before a crowd of 10,846. Reynolds gained his fifth victory of the season by outpitching Early Wynn, the Yankees supporting him with a 13-hit assault that included home runs by Yogi Berra, his eighth, and Bobby Brown, his fourth. Reynolds allowed only five hits. The weird baseball fever in Cleveland continued as the police and ushers had to escort a dozen fans from the field in the eighth inning. They had swarmed out to surround Joe DiMaggio as he went to his position. The score by innings: R H E Yankees 010 001 231—8 13 1 Indians 000 010 001—2 5 2 Reynolds 5-4 and Berra; Wynn, Zuver-ink 9 and Hegan. Losing pitcher, Wynn 4-6. Home runs — Berra 8th, Brown 4th.
