The Withers winner is at his owners Erdenheim Farm near Philadelphia and was ° trained over the private track on the farm. His trials were good according to advices. He came back following a sojourn at the farm to prove that the cure was effective lor he raced to his best form in his subsequent starts. When the weights for the Peter Pan were announced it marked for the second time that the Widener colorbearer was not assigned top weight this year. In John B. Campbells Experimentals, released in January* he was next in line to Uncle Miltie and for the week-end offering he will be in receipt of three pounds from J. J. Amiels Derby winner Count Turf. The latter has been assigned 126 pounds. Jockey Eddie Arcaro will guide Battlefield in his Peter Pan engagement. Trainer Bert Mulholland was among the absentees today for he was oyer in New Jersey celebrating one of the prouder days of his career. His son Jimmy was graduated from the Admiral Farragut Naval Academy and the youngster is bound for a college career starting next fall.. . Another oddity that developed from Mondays program was the fact that Eddie Arcaro did not have a mount in the stake race, the filly division of the National Stallion. The paddock set, taking cognizance of the "Battle of 34th Street," pointed out that John.B. Campbell was no green hand at bargains. He got Bold and Count Fleet for five grand when Pimlico earlier had bid 0,000 for a similar offering. This is the second time he turned bargain salesman.
