Delawares Public Service Programs Very Successful DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 5. — The first of five Saturday public service radio broadcasts, participated in by Bryan Field, Delaware Parks general manager and vice-president; Willard E. Heis-ler, vice-president of the Delaware Trust Co.; Bob Kelley, Wilmington Morning News columnist, and three Wilmington radio stations, proved a decided success. These Saturday programs are new this season, and the three local stations — WDEL, WILM and WAMS — broadcast them in a three-way hookup for a half hour period. There is no commercial sponsorship. The Saturday guest speakers represent three government agencies whose drives Delaware Park is aiding — Civil Defense, the American Red Cross and sale of U. S. Defense Bonds. The radio stations, by their joint hookup, are pitching in along with Delaware Park for the good causes bringing in all elements of the defense program. Alex D. Cobb, state director of the Treasury Departments U. S. Savings Bonds division, appointed Mr. Heisler to speak Saturday on behalf of the savings bonds-drive. Others will go on the air for the various government agencies on coming Saturdays.
