GALENA, well ridden, was sent to the front early, made the pace to the stretch under steady rating, responded well when ridden out and won going away. SLAMARANTH saved ground to the stretch, remained on the inside for the drive and finished well, but could not threaten the top one. SORORITY, away slowly, was hustled to reach serious contention and had nothing left when set down for the drive. WHAMMO had early speed, raced prominently to the stretch, but drifted out during the last three-sixteenths. NIGHTLIFE made a mild bid nearing the stretch, then tired. BROWNSTOWN was outrun. MISS MONTSIN raced wide during the stretch run. PIP PIP was through early. MIARIELJOE failed to stay after displaying early speed and bled. DEAR TINT was sent to the front early, raced TIGER MATT into defeat before entering the stretch, then continued willingly under strong handling and withstood GOOD QUESTION. The latter, away slowly, moved up steadily after tbe opening quarter mile, was sent to the outside for the stretch run and, closing fast, was getting to the top one at the finish. TIGER MATT began alertly, engaged DEAR TINT until inside the stretch, then faltered. SIR COBO had early speed and gave a good effort, probably needing his race. NIGHT PARADE was outrun. OUR EQUITY, never far back, failed to rally when hard ridden through the stretch. BILLY BUMPS lacked early speed. GLORYS CHANCE began fast, but dropped back soon after the start.
