OCEAN PLAY kept close to the pace and clear on the outside, was forced to lose ground on the final turn, responded readily when roused, assumed command and held GOLDTON safe. The latter, in hand "not too far off the pace, came around horses when roused, tried to bear out and hampered rider through ~the stretch. NORTH CLARK forced the pace for a half mile, assumed command under urging, but was not good enough. MIARIAMS BOY worked his way up along the inside in a good effort. OPTIONATED raced close to the pace to the final turn before weakening. TOSTON improved position through the stretch. SEVEN PILLARS tired. MODEL HOME weakened. ROFFIE raced wide in a dull effort. BOLD BRENNAN, steadied in the run down the backstretch, moved around horses when roused, reached the leaders before the final sixteenth of a mile and drew clear. OUR BULLY, a forward factor from the beginning, engaged for command in the stretch, but was not good enough. DOROTHY G. raced close to the pace and held on stubbornly. GAVILAN gained command after a quarter mile, was unable to draw clear and faltered near the end. HERESA DREAM had no excuse. MUSICAL LADY tired. LADY CARRIE lacked early speed. PROVIDENT finished stoutly through the stretch. FICKLE-MAN was close up for a half mile and saved ground along the inside. The others were outrun. MISS STONE forced the pace under light restraint, moved into command when roused and was under constant urging to maintain her advantage. BIRDIE LULLEY assumed command at one?, drew clear and saved ground to the stretch, held on gamely when challenged, but was unable to match strides with the winner. EMERALD BELLE closed strongly on the outside. IF COMING, slow to begin, made up ground in the late stages. TOOTSIE McCABE, a forward factor, lacked a rally. BELLANOCH saved ground to no avail. NUTMEG showed nothing. ANNAR was taken up leaving the gate, was roused to get back, into stride and raced wide in a dull effort. DEBMODE tired. SONGBIRD moved rapidly away from the barrier to overtake the leader before a quarter mile, assumed command into the stretch and drew out under intermittent pressure. ANNE BONNY broke alertly, raced true and closed with good energy. ALOT OLAKE showed good speed from the gate, skirted the inner rail to remain in front to the stretch, then weakened. PAPA CHARLIE had no mishap. NICELY NICELY dropped back at the start and went evenly thereafter. The others were never prominent. Overweight— Stevie Boy, 2 pounds. PROMISING outsped the field to take a clear lead in the opening quarter mile, saved ground on the turns and withstood a sustained stretch drive. JONES BROOK moved to the leader entering the stretch, went on even terms to the final yards, but faltered at the end. RED HOOPS improved position gradually on the outside in a good effort. ULTIMATUM, forwardly placed, lacked a rally under steady urging. WARRENS GRAY went evenly. BEAUTIFUL JANE was sHtiff led back on the far turn and failed to recover. BUSY INDIAN was hard ridden going to the far turn, getting a forward position, then faltered. PINK GIN showed nothing. EASTER ISLAND was taken up sharply when caught in a jam at the far turn. ORCO was sent to the front at once, opened a commanding lead before being steadied, saved ground on the turns and held on stubbornly when challenged, but was unable to match strides with the winner. The latter, steadied until the final guarter mile, slipped through along the rail to assume command, drew clear and faltered. SILENT MIRTH charged stoutly on the inside to make up ground at the end. BLACK ROVER moved on the outside to engage for command, was bothered as EXECUTION bore over and was eliminated when the field bunched at end. CRACK THE WHIP closed ground along the inside. EXECUTION set the pace to the final guarter mile, drifted out under pressure and weakened. DAWN OPEACE flashed brief speed. COUNT CHRIS was outrun. Silent Mirth claimed by Mrs. E.
