Merry Maestro Seeking Repeat at C ran wood Park Rabbit Point, Sea Weather and Dark Buckle Seen Main Riyals By W. A. CRUSE Staff Correspondent CRANWOOD PARK, Warrensville -Heights, Ohio, May 14. — Going into the eleventh day of this 25-day meeting, racing secretary Fred Burton has assembled a program for platers of one caliber or other, with the exception of two maiden affairs. One of the latter group is for two-year-olds, while the other is for three-year-olds. Probably the best race on the card is for platers of the ,500 to ,000 class. For four-year-old and older horses, it has a six-furlo"ng setting and with a ,000 purse the maximum starting field of eight deemed it wise to accept the issue. Seventh on the nine-race card, it is entitled the Super Market in honor of the Super Market Institute, a group of large-scale grocers who are in convention at this city. R. H. Burnetts Merry Maestro will be trying for a second consecutive set of brackets in this affair. The Wrack of Gold colt Beat a similar group in the fifth race here on May 5 and was much the best while taking the top most of the way of the seven furlongs The furlong less should not have too much bearing oh his race as he is a speedy sort. Another in line for a share of the support is G. Stalkers Rabbit Point. In his first outing here he negotiated six and one-half furlongs in 1:20% over a fast racing strip to be three-quarters of a length better than the Spoonbill Stables Scrutiny. The time was just two-fifths of a second off the track record, which is held by Hash Toes and which was set on October 20, 1951. That was under allowance conditions and he appeared the strongest throughout. However, in his last effort, the seventh race on May 8, he finished a rather dismal sixth. The strip was "off" while Classified as slow and he did show very brief early foot.
