RIPTON, a sharp factor from the beginning, assumed command with a rush when straightened for the stretch run and maintained a clear advantage when ridden out. JOGGINS responded readily when shaken for the stretch run and closed with good courage LITTLE JEFF, far back early, closed a gap in a sharp effort. HERES ED lacked the necessary rally. HELENS " HONEY, much used early, had little left.. SIDDONS passed tiring horses. STRADA and TRICKY DEAL were always outrun. PLUCKY PRINCE quit badly. CRISS CROSS • held a slight lead entering the stretch, then held on willingly in a good effort BILL TWIG, outrun early, failed to make up appreciable ground when hard rjdden through the late stages. ROYAL BONES lacked a menacing rally. FOXY LITTLE raced wide. PEACE SWORD was outrun. THEO was never dangerous and pulled up slightly lame. CHUCKALONG quit badly when displaced. TARTAR II. went to the front when ready and steadily drew clear while in hand. DOMINION was sent into closer, contention nearing the furlong marker, but was unable to wear down the winner when subjected to brisk urging. BLACK YANKEE was unable to seriously endanger the top ones when roused for the drive. WORCESTER-was unable to keep up. ALABAMA BELLE quit. ANXIOUS, slow to reach his best stride, came to the inside for the stretch run and was up in the final stride to prevail over FIGHTING TIGER. The latter raced CUBAN HEELS into defeat to take the lead after a half mile, then held on tenacioulsy, just missing. HOPEIDO came out for the drive, but, under pressure, was not good enough. SAND FLY lacked speed. GRACES LADY passed tiring horses. CUBAN HEELS quit. ETERNAL SAM retired steadily after showing early speed. GOLIAD quit badly.
