Silver Lamee Will Try for Her Third Straight in Wyandotte Purse at Downs Jones Filly Has Sonny Brown/ Hobad, Thistle War Among Nine Opponents in Sprint CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 14. — The Wyandotte, at six and one-half furlongs for three-year-olds, is the top attraction on a well-balanced program arranged for presentation tomorrow at this Falls City racing grounds. The principal offering attracted an overnight field of 10 entrants and shapes up as a rather interesting test inasmuch as the members of the probable starting band appear evenly matched. Early choices for the Wyandotte are Warner L. Jones, Jr/s Silver Lamee and C. Brown, Jr.s homebred gelding, Sonny Brown. The Jones filly, a Brookmeade Stable-bred daughter of Grand Admiral, is to take up 115 pounds while Sonny Brown, who is slated to make his seasonal debut in the headliner, will carry 116. Otto Grohs is to handle Sonny Brown whiie Tommy Barrow probably will guide Silver Lamee. Silver Lamee, who was claimed by her present owner, was a good winner at Gulf-stream Park before shipment to Kentucky and she also whipped a fair field here on Derby day. The Jones miss came from off the pace to earn her local victory, beating such company as Jacktown, Nine Bells, and others of that class after stepping six and one-half furlongs in 1:19%. Sonny Brown hasnt been nuder silks since last autumn at the Downs but his recent morning trials are such that he merits consideration in the Wyandotte. During his juvenile campaign, the Brown homebred won two of his only nine engagements. Mrs. Thelnia Otts Hobad, a homebred Revoked colt, will take up 116 pounds in the Wyandotte and Alfred Popara is engaged to handle the saddle chore. Hobad, lightly-campaigned as a two-year-old, visited the winners ring after two of seven outings and he raced willingly here May 9 after- his long absence from competition. Seasoned observers poinitng out that he probably needed his recent race and that improvement can be expected off that engagement. Others named for the Wyandotte are T. C. Melroses Clara Patricia, Sunnybrook Farms useful Thistle War, John Stelles Tile Man, D. W. Kleins Doctors Dandy, Carter and Johnsons Carters Pride, W. G. Reynolds Great Parham, and Shibboleth,, a member of the Young and Mile stable. Steve Brooks will pilot either Thistle War or Clara Patricia; Hiram Tackett is named to guide Tile Man, and William McKinley Cook drew the mount on Carters Pride. Three-year-olds also are scheduled to clash in the six-furlong third race and Pollard and Harkins Pixie Pat, a recent winner at the local oval, again will meet I. J. Collins Lils Gadget and Al Wellmans Liebeskind. Pixie Pat defeated her two rivals in easy fashion in a previous sprint and the Flushing n.-sired colt undoubtedly will rule favorite over his nine rivals tomorrow.
