G. R. Petersen Repeats at Pimlico Has Head Margin In Allowance Race Odds-On Suggested Placed Second After Being Fouled By Flag Request in Drive By PALMER HEAGERTY Staff Correspondent PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 14.— The chances of Mrs. Dodge Sloanes Brookmeade Stable having a representative in Saturdays rich Preakness were lessened here this afternoon when Suggested was beaten as an odds-on favorite in the featured Roland Park Purse. The winner of this mile and one-sixteenth jaunt was Mrs. Herb C. Boorses G. R. Petersen. Suggested was awarded second money through the disqualification of S. A. Weidmans Flag Request, whose number was taken don after she had finished in the runner-up spot. With a crowd of 11,581 in attendance, G. R. Petersen not only accomplished his second straight success here, but he completed a consecutive double for his owner, trainer Herb Boorse and jockey George Cardoza. Second choice at .40, the Heather Broom "colt was timed in 1:46%, which was a second and one-fifth slower than his winning race last week. Ran Second in Swift Stakes Suggested, a Requested colt who had finished in the money in 10 of his 11 previous outings, was backed down to seven-to-ten, largely off his bang-up second behind Charlie McAdam in a division of the Swift Stakes. He appeared to have stumbled slightly a ; the break, but assumed command almost immediately and retained his rail position around the first turn. G. R. Petersen joined the leader on the elbow and had his head to the fore as the two entered the backstretch. They raced almost as a team until leaving the half-mile ground, where G. R. Petersen commenced drawing clear. Suggested was then joined by Flag Request. G. R. Petersen seemed to be going fairly easy into the stretch, but suddenly showed a tendency to drift out, forcing Flag Request to alter her course to the inside. In making this move, Flag Request steadily moved over on Suggested, who seemed to be" holding on fairly well in midstretch. Not only did Flag Request crowd Suggested as she swept by the Brookmeade colt, but she also bumped him a bit, which was sufficient to warrant disqualification. Flag Request continued on well after that escapade and failed by only a head to wear down the leader. With both G. R. Petersen and Suggested earning money positions, there was a minus show pool of ,144.70, the second one here in less than a week. There was ulso a minus pool in last Saturdays Black-Eyed Susan, won by Calumets Real Delight.
