New England Turf Writers Admit Seven New Members SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 14. — Seven new members, including five sports editors, were admitted to mem- j bership in the New England Turf Writers Association at the annual business meeting held last night in Boston. New membexs were Jerry Mason, of the Boston Globe; Sam Cohen, Boston Record; Herb Finne-gan, Boston American; Gerry Hern, Boston Post; Barney Madden, Providence Journal-Bulletin; Sam McCracken, Boston Globe, and Frank Capone, Morning Telegraph. Gerry Sullivan, Herald-Traveler, was reelected president; Avery Brown, Morning Telegraph, was elec£ed vice-president, and John Aborn, Journal Bulletin, was reelected secretary-treasurer. The annual turf writers dinner dance will be staged again this year. A committee/ was ap-1 pointed to report back to the president their findings on the location and date of the big social event of the New England racing season. j
