I Thomas W. Simmons Funeral Services to Be Held Tomorrow HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., May 21. — Funeral services for Thomas W. Simmons, chairman of Hollywood Parks board of directors who died on Tuesday, will be held at 1 oclock Friday at the Church of the Recessional in Forest Lawn in Glendale. Simmons, who was in apparent good health up to the day he died, succumbed to a coronary occlusion at his home at 101 Oerth Hudson Avenue, Los Angeles. Simmons had attended the races here almost every day last week and last Thursday represented Hollywood Park in presenting a silver tea tray to Johnny Longden when the jockey rode his 4,000 winner. He was one of the founders of Hollywood Park and had been a member of the board • of directors since the tracks first meeting in 1938. Simmons death followed by two months that of George F. Young, Hollywood Park president, who died March 19. HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., Miiy 21.— The Hollywood Turf Club has no immediate plans for filling the vacancy on the board of directors left by the death Tuesday of Thomas W. Simmons or for filling his place as chairman of the board. Unless a special meeting of the board is called the next regular meeting of the board of directors is scheduled for Monday, June 9.
