Bernwood, Baybrook Work HAWTHORNE, Cicero, HI., May 21.— A heavy fog laid over this course this morning, and it was impossible for dockers to time some of the horses who worked. Among those caught by the watch were Brownell Combs four-year-old Bernwood, who last year ran the fastest mile, 1:33%, ever run by a three-year-old in winning the Sheridan Handicap. He stepped six furlongs this morning in a very moderate 1:18%. This best son of the Australian Bernborough has not yet started this year, but is expected to be seen under colors before long. The three-year-old Baybrook, prepping for Saturdays Fleming Handicap, went five-eighths in 1:00%.
