Mr. Monica May Visit Winners Circle Again Seeks Third Straight Tally at Beulah; Whirl Off Main Rival By HUGH J. McGUIRE Staff Correspondent BEULAH PARK, Grove City, Ohio, May 21. — Mr. Monica, who races for M.B. and Mary A. Harrell and who accounted for his two local engagements rather convincingly, will attempt to make it three in a row when he meets seven rivals in the six furlongs Atkinson Dauksch Purse that tops the program, here tomorrow. The head-liner is fashioned under allowance conditions under which Mr. Monica is asked to shoulder 112 pounds, an impost that should not detract from his ability. In his latest score here Mr. Monica led home among others, George McFarlands Fighting Man and J. Annarinos Blue Express, two. who are named to oppose him again here. In his previous outing he turned back seven rivals while carrying a claiming tag of ,500. He appears nicely placed. The ease with which C. H. Youngs Whirl Off accounted for her latest test compels respect for her chance here. The daughter of Whirlaway toyed with ,000 opponents over sloppy footing to lope to a seven-length tally and as she gets into this race with 100 pounds she looms as the most formidable contender. E. C. Buntings Bay Bam brought a creditable record from Fort Miami and his most recent appearance here found him third to the hardhitting Eye Catcher in a six furlongs outing. He should not be any farther away at the end of this venture. Another eligible for this race finished fifth back of Eye • Catcher in that same race in F. H. Swaims Mr. Fiske. This fellow "has been rather well fancied in his two disappointing races oyer this course and may show to better advantage here. The field in the feature is completed by Reason Why from the stable of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. ODaniel.and El Pair Me who races for A. E. Harper. These two were not impressive in their local engagements.
