Reckord Says Pimlico Plans ,000,000 Modernization BALTIMORE, Md., May 21.— Maj. Gen. Milton A. Reckord, president of the Maryland Jockey Club, said today the club is prepared to spend ,000,000 for renovations at Pimlico race track. Reckord said the only thing blocking the proposed modernization of the track is the problem of having 25 acres of club property rezoned to permit erection of stables. He expressed confidence that the city would act on a rezoning measure without delay. • The club statement followed an announcement by the Maryland Racing Commission that Pimlico would lose its racing dates unless "improvement and rebuilding" plans were presented. However, Morris Schapiro, owner of the Laurel race track and a major stockholder in Pimlico, disputed that the track has any such improvement plans drawn up. Schapiro, who said he would have to be consulted on any proposed track improvements, said he has not been informed of any such plans for renovating the track site.
