I., N. Y., May 27. Putnam Stables Combat Boots drew out under pressure in the featured Attention Handicap at Belmont Park today, reaching the end of the mile and a furlong three and a half lengths before Mrs. J. P. Rutherfords Donor. King Ranchs High Dive was almost a length farther back at the end of this classified event and the same margin before L. W. Jennings Eolus. A tepid choice with the crowd of 19,825, Combat Boots paid .10. Hedley Wood-house rode the consistent son of Our Boots Miss Dodo, who was tppweight with 122 pounds. The time was an acceptable 1:50M over a fast track. The afternoon was sunny and pleasant, while the favorites rewarded in three of the first six races, with well-balanced horses scoring in the others. Eolus was first to show in front in the feature, while High Dive was sluggish leaving the gate. At the end of a quarter, Tea-neck Plash had moved up to take a daylight lead over Eolus and Combat Boots, who were followed by Blue Hills, Donor and High Dive. Teaneck Flash Gives Way Curving for home, Teaneck Flash stopped abruptly and Combat Boots shot into a clear lead. At the same time, High Dive and Donor moved up on the outside, both going rather wide. As Combat Boots continued about his business, with Woodhouse scuffling mildly through the stretch, Donor responded willingly to Ted Atkinsons urging, but was unable to gain in the final sixteenth.
