Make Final Adjustments On Cars in Speed Classic INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., May 27 UP. The Indianapolis motor speedway was idle today as mechanics worked only on final adjustments on the 33 race cars qualified for Fridays annual 500-mile race. Although the track was open for tests for -the qualified cars, only one vehicle, driven by Joe James, came out for a brief workout. Most other entrants were in the garages for final checkovers by their crews. The track will be open again tomorrow for testing and then will be closed until the race begins at 11:00 a. m. CDT Friday.
