River Downs Plant in Shape For Memorial Day Opening CINCINNATI, Ohio, May 27. With the horse colony growing hourly, the track in excellent shape despite recent heavy rains and every detail completed, River Downs is ready to throw open its gates Memorial Day for a 44-day run that bids fair to be one of the most successful ever staged in the Queen City. Many improvements have been made since the close of the 1951 meeting, including a revamped clubhouse, better wagering facilities and increased parking facilities. Post time will be 2:30 p. m. daily, with nine rces scheduled for Wednesdays, Saturdays and holidays. Racing secretary Gene Bury promises an excellent opening card that will be topped by the running of the Memorial Day Handicap. Gale Osborne, a familiar figure in these parts, will again campaign here and will bring his triple winner at Beulah Park, Tyndareus, as well Harry-Lou, winner of last Saturdays Governors. Handicap. Osborne has several other good ones with which he confidently expects to visit the winners circle at River Downs.
