Del Mar Purse Program And Officials Are Approved LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 27. Del Mar Turf Club went before the racing commission in Los Angeles on Monday and received approval of both its stake and purse program and for its official family for the summer meeting opening on July 22. Del Mar will offer its richest schedule ever with, some 35,500 in distribution, of which an even 00,000 has been earmarked for stakes. Of this latter sum, three stakes will be offered at 5,000 added, five at 0,000 added, and one at ,000 added. Minimum overnight purses will be ,000. The overnight distribution represents an increase of 6,100 over last summer, and the stakes represent an increase of 0,000. Wendell Cassidy will serve as presiding steward, James J. Tunney will represent the association, and James P. McGill the state. John Maluvius was approved as racing secretary, Billy Mills as starter, and Raymond Tremayne as paddock steward. Other officials include Herman Sharpe and Jack Meyers as placing judges; Alfred Shelhamer, George Zarelli, and Andrew Ferguson as field judges, Lou liken, clerk of scales and Russell F. Brown, timer.
