New Opening-Day Hanclle At Brush, Colo., Course MEMORIAL PARK, Brush, Colo.. May 27 Memorial Park launched its seven day meeting here Saturday and got off to a flying start. The dates for the seven-day meeting are May 24-30-31 and June 6-7-13-14. Highlighting the opening day festivities was the Inaugural, an allowance test for three-year-olds and older which was decided at five furlongs and was run as the seventh race on the nine race program. The curtain raiser was a Quarter Horse Special rjace at 220 yards for horses of all ages registered with the "American Quarter Horse Association and was followed by an eight race thoroughbred program. The crowd surpassed last years attend ance when 1,800 patrons passed through the turnstiles and all previous records for mutuel play was also shattered when 8,262 was wagered on the nine race program. These figures set a new high for opening day in the history of the four year old plant.
